SnapOrtho Boards 360+
How Boards 360+ works
One blueprint for both exams
Since 2025 the AAOS Orthopaedic In-Training Examination uses the blueprint developed by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for the Part I certification exam (the "Orthopaedic Subspecialty Version"). It splits the exam into 10 domains and 87 weighted lines. Boards 360+ is organized by that blueprint, so the same map works for the OITE (275 questions) and Part I (328).
- Trauma13.5% · ≈37
- General Principles13% · ≈36
- Pediatrics12% · ≈33
- Hand & Wrist10.5% · ≈29
- Foot & Ankle10% · ≈28
- Sports9.5% · ≈26
- Spine9% · ≈25
- Adult Recon8% · ≈22
- Shoulder & Elbow7.5% · ≈21
- Oncology7% · ≈19
The 2025 change was large: Hip & Knee fell from 19% to 8% (now Adult Reconstruction, arthroplasty and arthritis only), knee ligament and patellofemoral topics moved to Sports, hip and femur fractures moved to Trauma, and Hand rose from 7% to 10.5%. The blueprint marks nine topics that must appear at least once; they are starred on the map.
What the numbers mean
- ≈ questions
- The official blueprint weight multiplied by the exam length. Hand & Wrist is 10.5% of 275 OITE questions, so ≈29. Real exams vary year to year.
- Orthobullets questions
- SnapOrtho mapped each of 8,159 Orthobullets practice questions to one blueprint line from the facts it tests. Topics inside a line are sized by these questions, which is why one topic (SCFE, for example) can appear under more than one line.
- Tested facts and "Tested N×"
- Each fact is a statement SnapOrtho extracted from question explanations. Facts that several questions tested are grouped, and "Tested 4× · 2009–2023" means four practice questions written in those years hinged on it. Core facts are the most repeated in their topic.
